Meet Haven’s Team
Abigail, a dedicated clinical psychotherapist, deeply values the profound impact of a strong therapeutic relationship. She firmly believes in its remarkable ability to heal, rebuild trust, and reconnect individuals with their lives.
With unwavering commitment, Abigail established Haven Counseling—a carefully crafted sanctuary that offers a safe space for individuals to embark on this empowering journey. Within its nurturing environment, she empowers and guides individuals, helping them summon their inner bravery as they navigate their personal growth.
Abigail considers it an incredible honor and privilege to accompany and support people on their transformative journeys—she knows her clients can write their stories with resilience, hope, and profound self-discovery.
Rosemary has worked as a professional and clinical counselor for over 20 years, working with various populations. Her principal approach to counseling is solution focused. Rosemary enjoys the practical nature of the process and most importantly its client-centeredness. She essentially works in partnership with clients to together identify their goals for therapy. She focuses on the strengths of her clients as opposed to the medical model of ascertaining a person’s deficits and trying to point out what is wrong with individuals. Rosemary wants to know what is right with her clients, what is working, and what has worked. Then she and her client can establish what they want to be different in their lives. By discovering strengths, clients will cultivate a plan to accomplish goals for positive change.
Katie has a Masters degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit. She received her MSW in 2004 and works with individuals who want to learn to manage their anxiety and depression as well as improve their self-esteem, better their relationships, and work through challenging life situations. She uses CBT and DBT as two main therapies to help clients learn about themselves and gain skills to cope with what they are going through. (Please see services section for a full description of treatment modalities). No matter what you have been struggling with, counseling can start with just telling your story. Don't feel like you must know what you want to say or even what you want to work on. You and Katie can figure that all out! Together, you can collaborate and work towards you feeling better.
